Amber Phillips

Amber currently serves as Assistant Principal at The Joseph Sams School where she helps oversee the educational and therapeutic programs at JSS. Amber began her career at JSS in 2007 as a paraprofessional. She obtained her B.A. Degree from The University of Georgia and is currently working towards her Master’s degree in Special Education: Moderate to Severe.

Amber has 15 years of classroom experience ranging from preschool to upper school ages where she had the opportunity to instruct functional academics along with life and community-based skills. She is certified as an International Trainer with MOVE (Mobility Opportunities via Education/Experiences), and in PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System).

Amber enjoys working the FOCUS+Fragile Kids summer camps and coaching on their Fast Fins adaptive swim team. In her spare time, she loves going on outdoor adventures with her husband and three boys. She also enjoys reading, going to the lake, and riding bikes with her family. The Joseph Sams School is more than just a job, it is Amber’s second family.
